Do It for You, Do It for Your Family

Do you have someone in your family that you wish would be healthier? The best way to help someone you love get healthy is to lead by example. You can’t help someone lose weight until they ASK for help. No one wants to be told that they need to exercise or eat healthy. Just be a positive influence, and ready when they are! Be careful you haven’t turned into a nag or the person who they feel judged by.

Your loved ones will take notice of you having more energy, losing weight, lowering your cholesterol and being more active. When they ask…just tell them what is working for you and invite them to join you! Maybe it is YOU that is taking notice of a friend or family member that has been on their journey to health…..what is stopping you from beginning your own journey? You will find YOU may start to feel great, be in a better mood and be more productive in your day by simply being more active.

I have always been a pretty active person but after I had my first child, I had a difficult time losing that baby weight. I found a program on an infomercial that I bought and I started it. I would put my baby in a pack n play and workout beside her. So from that time on, she has seen me exercise and get healthier. I now I have 2 kids with one on the way, and they LOVE to be active. They even like to join in on my workouts! I am so glad to be an example for my kids and spouse showing them that working out can be fun and exciting and not a chore. They are watching you even if you don’t think that they are.

There are so many ways you can get your kids, spouse, friend or family member involved in being active…go for a walk vs. out for drinks; sign up for a local race in which you can either jog or run; take a healthy cooking class together; go outside and play tag; throw the ball around or go on bike rides with your children.  

Lead by example and love unconditionally.
